Angela Paul is a writer, model, photographer, political activist and wellness coach who also leads women’s groups and workshops on relationships, marriage, personal transformation and graceful aging. Her first book, “It’s Hard Being Human: Thoughts on The Journey from Suffering to Joy,” was published in 2007 and featured a foreword by The Secret’s teacher Rev. Michael Beckwith. Her second book, “The Beauty of Aging: A Woman’s Guide to Joyful Living,” was published in 2010 and is available through online retailers such as Barnes and Noble, Amazon and iUniverse.

Angela was born and raised in Yorkshire, England. A former Miss Teen England and successful fashion model, Angela traveled extensively in Europe and Asia and lived in Japan for eight years. It was during this time that she began her 35-year meditation practice and study of Eastern philosophy and religion. She has also worked as a docent and trained facilitator at the Simon Weisenthal Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, and as a “Big Sister” with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Angela has also been a long time sponsored sister with Women For Women International.

In the 2005/06 contest, Angela was a winner of More Magazine’s Over 40 Model Search and became a contracted model with Wilhelmina agency in New York and Los Angeles. Her clients include Sheraton Hotels, WEN Hair products by Chaz Dean and Radiesse. She has been a featured guest on Good Morning America, CBS Early Show, KTLA, Fox News and Inside Edition.

Her husband of thirty-six years is Alan Paul, a founding member of the world-renowned, multi-Grammy winning vocal group, The Manhattan Transfer. They have one daughter, Arielle, who is a UC Berkeley graduate, a contributing writer for the LA Times and a singer-songwriter.

In 2011, Angela was the winner of Harper’s Bazaar Fabulous At Every Age Contest and was the commentator/analyst for Fox News San Diego’s coverage of The Royal Wedding. She was also the “Royal Expert” again on Fox News for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Angela has been a passionate Bernie Sanders campaigner and progressive activist for the past several years and leads a Facebook page called A Brit for Bernie.

Angela is currently working on a new book featuring a collection of essays, poetry and photography focusing on the ripening and blossoming of women through all chapters of their lives, with a special focus on midlife women.
